The M37 IAR was made in 2022 by HK to replace the LSAT in use. The design has a 20 inch barrel, carry handle and integral bipod.
The design has parts from the HK416, M249 SAW and MK14 MOD1. The magazine is a scaled down M249 SAW belt feed mag, scaled down to a 5.56 package.
The design was adopted in 2023 by The USMC, SAS and Royal Navy.
1,000,000 M37 IARs were imported to America, Britain, 7 European Countries and Australia.
There was a M37 PDW planned for production but never made it through the design stage.
